This classic dish belongs to the category of comfort food. Our version of Beef Caldereta is slow-cooked to perfection using a toaster/convection oven. That’s food right in time for dinner after work.

Using the Breville Multi Chef™, preheat for 2 minutes using Saute/Sear Function. Grease the pot with olive oil then saute onions for 1 min.
Add garlic, paprika, minced siling labuyo and tomato paste saute for another 3 minutes.
Saute beef in the pan, coating it with tomato paste. Add soy sauce and brown sugar. Sear until it turns brown and caramelized.
Add 4 cups of water or beef stock and stir continuously for 1 minute. Season with salt & pepper.
Add bay leaf then transfer into an oven-safe casserole.
Using the Breville Smart Oven™ Pro’s Slow Cook Function, cook the beef under High Section for 150°C.
In the last hour, add potatoes, red and bell green peppers, carrots, frozen green peas and green olives.
Garnish with grated cheese (optional) and serve with rice.
